The Regional Church
There are 33 geographical areas in the United States and Canada that are designated as “regional ministries” within the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). Allisonville Christian Church is a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Indiana. It is the mission of the Indiana region to energize and connect congregations to proclaim the gospel and make disciples of Jesus Christ.
They accomplish this mission by equipping congregations to:
- promote health and growth,
- cultivate spiritual formation and discipleship,
- call out and develop passionate leaders,
- plant new congregations, and
- claim God’s unique mission for them.
The General Church
The international (U.S. and Canada) organization for the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is a collection of ministries often referred to as “general ministries.” These ministries address broad areas of work, central administrative functions and specialized study and services to meet responsibilities of the Church in its mission of witness and service to the world. General ministries strengthen congregational life for the church’s mission.
