who we are

The Outreach Ministry of Allisonville Christian Church is dedicated to fulfilling the call in Matthew 25:34-40: “I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat. I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink. I was a stranger, and you took me into your home. I needed clothes, and you gave me something to wear. I was sick, and you took care of me. I was in prison, and you visited me…Whatever you did for one of my brothers or sisters, no matter how unimportant it seemed, you did for me.’”

Our programs include, but are not limited to:

Blood Drive – four times annually.

Buddy Bags – School-age kids are most at-risk of going hungry during school breaks.  Our Buddy Bag program provides 90 bags of food for each break for students at Clearwater Elementary, Eastwood Middle School, and Northview Middle School.

Christmas Families – Each year we adopt as many families as we are able and provide them with gifts and food for the holidays.

Global Ministries – We sponsor a child every year.

Green Chalice – We are a Green Chalice Congregation seeking to preserve the environment. We are constantly looking for ways to preserve and protect our world. We also plant a garden annually to feed the hungry.  Learn more

Habitat for Humanity – We sponsor three builds: 2 Women’s Builds and one GIDA Build.

IHN/Family Promise – ACC works closely with Family Promise to provide items needed to furnish apartments and help tackle issues of homelessness in our community.

Horizon House/Second Helpings – Congregation members volunteer to serve the hungry with these organizations.

Jesus Fellowship (a westside Christian Day Care) – We worked on getting this ministry up and running with sweat equity and are proud to continue supporting this program.

Linwood Food Pantry – The first Sunday of every month is Food Pantry Sunday.  We collect food, personal hygiene items and/or cash to help support the Linwood Food Pantry on Michigan Street. Members also volunteer there.

Refugee Family – Since 2015, we have given financial, emotional, and educational support to a Congolese family with four children who have settled here in Indianapolis.

Second Helpings – We are in our second year of sponsoring a Culinary Class in partnership with our youth.
