What does it mean to be a Disciple?

That question is at the heart of Christian life, but it's also particular to the community. The capital "D" references our tradition, as members of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

We were the first denomination founded on American soil. We belong the a branch of Christianity known as the "Restoration Movement". We are classified as "mainline Protestants". But what does this all mean? And what makes our tradition distinctive relative to others?

Disciples 101 is a wat for people within the ACC community to learn more about our broader tradition. We have revamped the offering to meet on a quarterly basis (rather than a multi-week class). Every three months there will be a new conversation about who we are as Disciples.

Future sessions will focus on how the work and witness of ACC is structured.

Whether you're a curious visitor, new member, or long-time attendee that wants to dive deeper, we'd love to have you in this conversation. We can also arrange for a hybrid meeting, if there are individuals that want to participate via Zoom.

Our next session is happening on Sunday, April 26th at 12pm. We’ll provide a light lunch (pizza and salad) and a fantastic discussion focused on the history of our denomination. Rev. Peter Morgan, an ACC member and the retired president of the Disciples of Christ Historical Society, will co-lead the discussion with Pastor Beau.

Please note, we are utilizing a new platform for registration, so it may look a little different. If you have any questions, please call the office at 317-849-3957.
