June Allisonville Forum

Our June Forum features Dr. Amy Kenny, a disabled scholar-practitioner, writer, and advocate. She serves as the inaugural director of the Disability Cultural Center at Georgetown University. Her book, My Body is Not a Prayer Request, mixes humor, personal narrative, and theology to invite faith communities to rethink their ableism and learn from the embodied wisdom of disabled people.

Dr. Kenny's time with us is made possible through the Vital Worship, Vital Preaching Grant we received from the Calvin Institute for Christian Worship. All attendees will also receive a complimentary copy of her book. She will be speaking to us via Zoom, so attendees are invited to gather in person at ACC for dinner and the presentation or virtually by registering at allisonville.org/forum.
