Preschool Director

 

The position of the director of the Allisonville Christian Church Preschool is both an administrative and educational one. The director will manage and oversee teachers, aides, and students ages one-five during classroom hours as well as provide administrative leadership.

The ideal candidate will be able to balance between a ministry of presence with children and teachers as well as provide administrative leadership. In addition, the director position will also serve on Allisonville Christian Church’s Preschool Committee as a liaison between the preschool community and the church community.

Administrative Duties Include:

-Building positive relationships with parents, colleagues, and children

-Marketing program and recruiting new families. This includes, but is not limited to facility tours, phone conversations, website maintenance, and monitoring enrollment information

-Financial responsibilities such as maintaining financial records, making weekly deposits, recording hours and reporting payroll, and maintaining a balanced budget

-Fostering and maintaining open communication with parents and teachers through regular newsletters, updates, and invitations to special events and activities hosted by both the preschool and the wider church

-Preparing beginning of year information for teachers and parents

-Coordinating substitutes and teacher support in the event of teacher absences

-Maintaining a healthy, nurturing, and safe environment for children, including adhering to the Child Protection Policy of Allisonville Christian Church

-Evaluating classroom and teacher performance

Educational Duties Include:

-Planning and implementing bi-weekly "Big Muscle" (movement activity) classes

-Planning and coordinating "VIP Nights" (parents' nights) and other special events

-Maintain availability to assist teachers and support staff throughout the school day

-Coordinating with teachers to plan and implement yearly curriculum

-Facilitating teacher meetings

-Monitoring and purchasing necessary supplies

-Providing continuing educational opportunities for teachers

Job Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree

-Child Development Associate credentials (may be acquired after hire)

-3 years experience in early childhood education

-Open availability 9:00-2:00, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday

-Be able to work in a team environment

-Demonstrated love for children

-3 references
