Office Manager

Allisonville Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is an active, progressive congregation of about 500 members. The Office Manager is responsible for the overall management of the church office, assisting and facilitating the congregation's ministries and mission, and will work under the direction of the Senior Minister. This is a full-time, salaried position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday with negotiable starting and ending times. We are offering a salary/benefit package of $45,000 per year, payment into the Pension Fund of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), paid vacation, and ten paid holidays per year.


We are looking for a welcoming, upbeat multi-tasker who has excellent verbal and written communication skills, someone who enjoys interacting with a wide variety of people, who will represent our core values in all interactions, and can share our commitment to the life and work of the church.


Someone who is proficient in or has transferrable skills for the following:

  • Managing a Google Workspace for administration, resources/room reservations, shared calendar, and using associate programs such as Google Docs, Sheets, Forms, etc.

  • Social Media and Website Management (our website is based on the Wix platform)

  • Adobe InDesign (for bulletin and newsletter creation)

  • Canva design platform and/or Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator

  • Constant Contact or similar email management service

  • Church or business management software (Our database is CDM+)


Responsibilities include:

  • Providing administrative support to ensure efficient operation of office

  • Serving as receptionist: answering phone calls and door, taking messages, greeting all who come to the building

  • Performing weekly duties such as preparing worship bulletins, managing content for and sending newsletter, tracking worship attendance, managing mail and church correspondence, managing group sign-ups

  • All membership management in the church database

  • Updating website and social media platforms

  • Keeping the church calendar, coordinating meeting dates and building use, ensuring compliance with record keeping

  • Running background checks for staff and volunteers while maintaining all related files

  • Producing an annual church directory (summer) and creating year-end reports (January)

  • Managing and ordering office supplies

  • Taking part with all staff in managing building issues such as lighting, thermostats, and locks

  • Serving as the primary point of contact for cleaning service and other vendors

  • Acting with the utmost confidentiality in all church matters
